Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:

I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference
Divergevano due strade in un bosco dorato
e mi dispiacque di non poterle fare entrambe
essendo un solo.. mi fermai a lungo
a guardarne una fin dove giungeva lo sguardo..
là dove svoltava nel sottobosco.
Poi presi l’altra, così com’era
che aveva forse i titoli migliori
perché era erbosa e non portava segni..
pur essendo entrambe
segnate dal passare della gente..
e nessuna in quella mattina mostrasse
sui fili d’erba l’impronta nera d’un passo.
Lasciai quell’altra per un altro giorno !
Pur sapendo bene che strada porta a strada,
dubitavo che mai sarei tornato.
Forse racconterò questa storia con un sospiro
chissà dove.. chissà quando:
divergevano due strade in un bosco, e io…
io scelsi la meno battuta,
E’ per questo che sono diverso.
